Dardara (Lentil Salad)
"Exclusively sold by Sabra
foods and a "specialty of the house" at our Sabra Restaurant in Newton (MA)."
I found this at a local shop in MA. (Sorry! I don't know about buying this elsewhere, I am looking now!)
If you want to find it in your store? Click here.
Made with caramelized onion, Dardara makes a perfect garnish on any salad or as
a side dish for any meal."
Absolutely simple, delish and FILLING, you can pack in two ounces of
this stuff for 40 calories, or the whole eight ounce container for 160
calories. I cannot possibly. I want to. I can't. Burp. The package
says it's better heated up. I'm eating it cold. ;) Now, if you're a post-op WLS'er, this could very well be something that is a bit overwhelming to your altered belly. WAIT until you're allowed to eat whole grains, would ya? I am nearly five years out, I can eat nearly everything.
What's in it?
Lentils, Brown Rice, Caramelized Onions, Sea Salt, EEOO and Water. Simple. Good.

This company makes a host of other products I must try, starting with the grape leaves.
So, yeah, that's a rave.
