Berries 'n Chocolate Crunch Cereal

I am not a breakfast foods for breakfast person - nor am I a breakfast person at all.

I find myself very often only eating at 11am and on, which has never been a good plan.  (That's a lie -- I USED TO BE a breakfast person.  A sausage muffin breakfast girl.  Yeah.  That, is rare these days.  In fact the smell of maple syrup makes me retch.)

Today I actually ate something in a range of "normal" breakfast time!

And, it sounds like something totally naughty

Berries 'n Chocolate Crunch Cereal provides the perfect blend of glazed chocolate whey protein spheres and strawberry-flavored pieces of fruit.   A tasty way to start the day. If you're someone who needs to crunch on something for breakfast, then this is the cereal for you.   Add your favorite fresh fruit, fat free milk or skim milk and enjoy. Our breakfast cereals provide a balanced blend of slow and fast acting proteins for long lasting satisfaction.

Ingredients: Soy Protein Concentrate, Evaporated Cane Juice, Corn Meal, Sugar, Soy Grits, Barley Malt Extract, Wheat Gluten, Whole Oat Flour, Whole Wheat, Dehydrated Apples, Whey Protein Isolate (From Milk), Whey Protein Concentrate (From Milk), Rice Flour, Whole Rice Flour, Wheat Bran, Cocoa Butter, Milk, Chocolate Liquor, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Salt, Soybean Oil, Calcium Carbonate, Soy Lecithin, Malt Flavoring, Corn Syrup, Vitamin E (To Preserve Freshness), Artificial Flavors, Citric Acid, Sodium Ascorbate, Alpha Tocopherol Acetate, Niacinamide, Zinc Oxide, Reduced Iron, Calcium Pantothenate, Vitamin A Palmitate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin, Thiamin Mononitrate, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D3, Vitamin C, Modified Cornstarch, Red #40, Gum Arabic.

And, it's really good.  The cereal is a blend of a bunch of different little cereal pieces that are super crunchy -- and chewy little bits of fruit -- with chocolate.   This product doesn't taste protein-y, but it has protein.   I like it enough to just rip open the packet and dump it into my mouth.

(Disclaimer -- the suggested use is to add the cereal to skim milk to create a meal.  I got out of the habit of eating any cereals WITH milk because milk makes me ill.  Adding that to cereal - yeah, no.)

But, I may give it a whirl with unsweetened soy milk - and I am likely to be just fine.  I have a medium tolerance for sugar/carbohydrates, I don't dump on 10-12 grams of sugar typically -- until I MIX items.  I will also track my reaction in an hour or so -- seeing if my blood sugar reacts to this product eaten alone.

Just speaking from an roux en y gastric bypass'ers dietary restrictions -- your mileage as another form of WLS likely will vary.
