It's nearly holiday shopping time, and there you are, circling the parking lot at the mall. You are going in huge circles aimlessly trying to secure an open space as close to the doors as possible. Why?
Because, you might get wet! It's cold!
You may melt!
Or, you can't walk that far!
You find a close spot, and make your way into the mall thinking you have won because you got THAT SPOT.
TAKE THAT. I win. I got the closest SPOT. Neener neener neener.
My husband does this, and will continue to until the day he dies. I know this is a serious competitive thing for boys. To GET the spots close to the door. He won't stop circling until it's done.
There are those guys who will park as far away as possible because they don't want anyone to touch their super duty huge ass truck, even if it's got a gun rack and deer bloodz on it.
These are not the same as the guys who park sideways, sometimes right up front, so as not to get a scratch on their shiny luxury sedans or sportscars, they are ASKING to be keyed. Just sayin'. *whistles and continues on*
OR this:

Now. WHAT have you saved by this behavior? Time? No. You just drove around in circles for several minutes. Your energy? BULLSHIT. You are going into the mall to shop with gazillion other people, that is serious exercise.
Tip #4 is, SURPRISE! Park. farther. away.
Go ahead. Make it a habit. Go to The Wal Marts and park in the very last row in the Garden Section, repeat once a week. That's a calorie burn you can depend on, once a week! Do it at work. Do you work in an office building? Screw the employee parking, go farther away! Walk FIVE TIMES A WEEK to your building! Or -- skip that and use public transport and walk to the bus, the train, the subway.
Even making one change every day will accumulate thousands of burned calories over the course of a year. Think about it. Use your energy to get angry and find a spot near the mall -- or use it to walk a little more and lose a little weight?
