I recently received a box of the Cookies and Cream flavor of Supreme Protein Carb Conscious Protein Bars for review from the Supreme Protein Company. I have tried all the flavors before, and nearly had a mouthgasm from a few. I find them all Wicked Good, and as close to candy as a protein bar can get. But, this flavor is new, and it may be my new favorite, Cookies and Cream. In fact, I'm not finding it on Amazon
It's a smaller, 45 gram "carb-conscious" version of the large Supreme Bars. It's 190 calories and 15 grams of protein, with only 3.5 sugar grams.
The bar is a chocolate coated, with layers inside of cookie, "cream," and proteins. It's quite thick and substantial, making for a good filling snack for a WLS'er. One of the best things about this line of bars, is the lack of that protein TASTE or after mouth taste and feel. You can't taste it, and for those of us who routinely eat protein bars after weight loss surgery, it's a treat.
Supreme Bars are widely available, I have seen a select flavor or two at convenience stores and big box stores like Wal-Mart. I also found a miniature bite version available exclusively at GNC a few months ago. I am glad to see a bar I recognize as something "Pouchworthy" when I am out and about, knowing that I can pick one up and avoid the junk food in a convenience store or grocery store. It does help me out, quite a bit.
