I admit it. I tried the Dunkin Donuts Sausage Pancake Bite bombs. They were okay, but... meh. I have been back to DD's several times, and did not even remember they were there. Win.
I did not, however, try this.
I love, love, love pancakes. I cannot really eat them. I love sausage, which I can eat. However, I CAN eat a small portion of pancake, IF I add protein and fat to it. Which means, sausage makes the pancake win.
But the pre-made stuff is really... ICK! I wouldn't get them for the kids, nor myself.
I'd love a good sweet and savory breakfast food now and again. I never eat breakfast, but if you told me there was sausage? Heh.
And, then Eggy posted this today! SQUEE!
Shelly's Sausage Pancake Bites
1/2 cup Multigrain Pancake Mix, dry
1/3 cup Soy Milk (any milk would do)
1/4 cup Sugar Free Caramel Syrup (I assume Maple flavor, too... since.. well, they're usually maple. -MM)
1/3 cup Cooked Sausage Crumbles (Jimmy Dean makes this -- there's even a <gasp> turkey version. -MM)
- Mix pancake mix, milk, syrup together till thoroughly combined. Pour batter into a 12-cup mini-muffin tin that has been sprayed with Pam. Fill about 3/4 way up.
For the whole recipe go to The World According to Eggface!
PS. Yes, Michelle, do it with BACON. I made Aunt Jemima's Bacon Pancakes, and it's the only way I will EVER eat another pancake.
