Today has been an icky day.  Things just aren't going well, and there is Cranky around.

But then the mail came.  

And I got a box, from a reader.  (Thank you Susan!)  She sent me two varieties of Sugar-Free Instant Cappuccino Mix from Hills Bros. Coffees.  

 
 

I haven't seen this product before - but it's very possible I haven't looked because the only thing I grab in the coffee aisle is beans, and there's usually none left and I end up elsewhere! 

 But, today, it thrilled me.  As, I'm almost outta beans again, and those damned things are EXPENSIVE!  (Yes, Beth, cut down on the coffee.)

I will let you know how it is when I make some up.

Thinking about revision

I'm in the early stages of considering revision surgery. 

Today Would Be A Lovely Day For H1N1 Or The Like.

Mr. MM informed me this morning that we are sans health insurance coverage until the beginning of December.  He started back to work at his previous company yesterday, and while everything else is reverting to the way it was, we miss out on a couple weeks of health insurance coverage.

Let me just say I am thankful we HAVE ALWAYS had coverage, considering the fact that so many people have none.  Even back when we were piss poor and could not get any additional help from the State of Massachusetts, and friends of ours were scamming the system and getting free health care.

My concern is the obvious.  For a family that never gets sick, it WOULD be our luck for something catastrophic to occur right now.  My children are never sick, never at the doctors, I mean that.  We have had nothing but well-child visits in at least a year.  The only medical bills incurred have been via my stay at the Penthouse Neurology Suite for a week, and my Awesome Anemia Iron Intravenous.

I was not aware that we would have a lapse, I did not even concern myself with that, because I don't recall it happening before and we are never sick.  Of COURSE that means I need a refill on the ONE PRESCRIPTION I take, today, with $10 to my name.  Imagine if I needed 5-10, or if the family took anything?  Yikes.  I never once looked down upon someone needing to use that pharmaceutical company on the street or in Canada, (or in my SPAM folder!) because this shit is EXPENSIVE.  I'm fondly recalling my $500 Topamax prescription last year.  Ugh.

This one immediately Bounced Into My Brain And Started A Slide Show.  I know, it's totally cheesy.  But, it did, it's like a country cheesy virus that's infiltrated my head, and now I have to put it with photos.  Ha.  I tend to do that.  (Wedding photos?  OMG, immediately.)

Fright!

Yesterday was Halloween and while I would like to think it was just a trick -- the scale does not lie -- and I got a serious fright.  No, I mean it.  After last weekend's NY trip, and the fact that I really did not snack at all I thought I would be hanging on to a few pounds lost!  But, oh no, we're right back to where we started, to the:

There is ZERO reason for my body to maintain ANY weight higher than this, unless I am liquefying Big Macs and drinking them for meals.  This doesn't even have anything to do with Halloween candy -- I didn't buy any -- give any out -- nor take any of the kid's candy!  This is just ME! 

I played with my BMR on the OH Weight Tracker, and it's pretty scary, seeing the calories to maintain size.   Considering:  Your Estimated Resting Metabolic Rate + Activity Factor: 2231 Calories burned?  I have only gained recently, no loss, aside from a 5 lb here, 5 lb there, and back to the same place.  Yes, it's a broken record, however, this is serious now as I refuse to slide into 14-16-18-20-22-24-26-28W, okay? 

You say, "it's not possible," but tell that to the percentage of post-ops who regain most of their weight back, it's too easy at a certain point.

The reality:  I can eat nearly any damn thing I want, most at a normal serving size, and I am hungry every 60-90 minutes.  That there is DANGEROUS. 

I can see a few in the peanut gallery out there giggling, "HAHAHAHA!  Neener neener neener!  We tole you -- Tostito Eater!"  But, lemme tell you, it ain't chips.  It may be BBQ pork.

At least WITHOUT a stomach pouch, I was only hungry at three meal times and maybe a snack or two, and I could get full (or over full of course, I was 300+ lbs!) and remain that way for a long stretch.

The fix?  Duh.  Back to planning, journaling, scheduling, choosing, or as I like to call it, dieting.  "But, it's a lifestyle, not a diet."  Uhhh, yeah, sure it is.

"Nothing tastes as better as thin feels?"  Especially when you're eating rodent pellets.

Why the fuck else would one eat Jenny Craig?  "Because it tastes good?" 

And, after watching a DS'er eat dinner this week, HOT DAMN WOULD WE LOVE TO HAVE THAT LIFESTYLE?!?!

Not. going. there.  But, as I slug back a protein shake with added fruit and fiber, I will state for the record, that it's on.  Again.  And, likely again, and again.  This is the lifestyle I chose.

Without further ado today's lifestyle:

• Espresso + soy milk (First thing to try to "cut back" the amount of milk I have been using. Gah.)
• ISS OhYeah! Nutritional Shake, Vanilla Creme
• • 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries, 1 TBSP Flaxseed

Misdirected energy.

Welcome to Monday.  RAARRR!  (This is what happens when a kid pulls out the face crayons during a cookout.  The seven year old did her own work, and it took three baths to remove her "look.")

I get apprehensive when I read all the social networking updates from people , they write: 

• "Monday already,"
  
• "Back to the grind,"
  
• "Where did the weekend go?"

I am over here musing, "It's just another day, they are pretty much all the same, no?"

It's just begun and it's already over.  The summer, that is.  I just looked the calendar and realized, the big kids go back to school in about two weeks.
