In 139 days the BBGC is descending upon Phoenix, Arizona for the #YWM2013 with the Obesity Action Coalition. This is the 2nd Annual Event -- and we want to be a bigger part of it. Last year several of us traveled to Dallas, Texas for the 1st Annual YWM Event and LOVED EVERY MINUTE of it. Note:
This year -- we decided we want to put a ring on it.
In addition to fundraising for the Walk From Obesity (Walks From Obesities? Plural... Remember last year - $7,300.) and doing good the Bariatric Bad Girls Club is sponsoring a portion of the #YWM2013 event. I implore YOUR business or group to do the same, it is a worthwhile cause.
“One of the marvelous things about community is that it enables us to welcome and help people in a way we couldn't as individuals. When we pool our strength and share the work and responsibility, we can welcome many people, even those in deep distress, and perhaps help them find self-confidence and inner healing.”
- To start we are selling #YWM2013 - BBGC - Support - Advocacy Bracelets for a limited time with 100% of the proceeds to benefit the Obesity Action Coalition.
- Our BBGC ink injected wristbands are black debossed silicone wristbands with HOT pink colored ink injected into the engraved letters. Pretend they are below, cause my photo is NOT here yet.
- The bracelets are IN PRODUCTION (I'm watching the tracking...) and will be SHIPPED AS SOON AS THEY ARRIVE. You will receive a bracelet in a few weeks.
- Alternatively if you DO NOT WANT A BRACELET and want to SUPPORT THE BBGC CAUSE, you may also simply donate directly to email@example.com at www.paypal.com - below

Hold the Press Releases, Suz!

It would not be the first time. I kid, because I don't think I've ever flashed my Slimpressions on TV before.
What does one do in situations like this? I mean, I got the itinerary yesterday. MM get in a car and go to the airport and meet your driver and OMG. WHAT DO I DO? First! RAISE $3900 for the OAC! THEN!
SHOP. I had about two minutes to find something to wear, and zero clue of how to dress for such an occasion.
If you ever want to get advice from everyone -- mention that you might be on national TV.
Add other people's idea of What Works On TV Because We Know these things to my own clothing quirks, and that rules out nearly everything you find in a store. I had one afternoon (about two hours with two very tired and children, one who cried the whole time...) to find an outfit, and little funds.
I stopped just short of crying in the middle of Macy's. I DID GOOD, I didn't lose my composure!
You see, my local mall has very few shopping options, and I have many clothing quirks.
This might turn out being part of the interview -- the trouble with EXCESS SKIN AND ALL THAT IS LEFT AND THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO LIVE IN YOUR SKIN, FOR-EVER. Let it be known, not everybody gets to have plastic surgery. Sometimes you have to keep your extra bits. This was only solidified in my afternoon shopping trip that left me with yet another black dress.
Forgive me, fashionable women of the internets, I can't handle colors, short sleeves, short dresses or anything that allows the non-use of Slimpressions because I. will. be. wearing. them. I will be wearing a black 3/4 length sleeved belted dress with a Slimpressions The-Have-Nots and Slimpressions bottoms with Spanx tights. Because I can. And, given the state of my post weight loss and post baby body at 8 years and 1 month post weight loss surgery, I need to.
And if the Slimpressions don't make me feel super, the shoes might help -
Melting Mama I'm writing a blog post about the cruise, and I insert a photo of Mr + I from our first cruise in 1999. My five year old says to Mr, "Mama gotted married to you, and got us, that's why she got big... but so why did you be so fat?" Oh. dear.
Kids. They are honest.
It's been that many years since I went on an actual away-from-everything vacation with the Mr. I didn't really consider it before now, but we haven't been anywhere without kids since then, aside from one quick jaunt to Long Island last fall for another OH Event. The kids have been on vacation with family, he and the kids have also been on vacation, but he and I have not.
We went on a Carribean cruise for our honeymoon in 1999. Of course at that time we were the parents of a 1.5 year old and a five month old and it was all very overwhelming but it was... fun? I hesistate, because... my only real memory of it is getting very sick with a stomach virus. Hitting up the ER in the islands is "A Lot Of Fun?" Also, maybe something about falling off of a Seadoo. Sharkbait.
I am not dredging up those details right now, (even if my mind just went there...Sharkbait...) because I'm leaving in four hours headed to Fort Lauderdale to become Sharkbait...
We are going old-school and driving to the port in Fort Lauderdale. Partly because apparently during spring break time, airfares are hugely inflated -- and because someone who might be driving might no admit to being anxious about flying. Clearly he has not flown with ME since 1999 <insert sedatives here>
I'm bringing this suit.
It's not all sun and sea (and sunburns) we'll spend time learning and sharing and trying products with our WLS friends!
I mean it. Products from all sorts of super sponsors have *hopefully* made their way to Florida to get on the big boat! Yours truly will be doing some live product tasting and testing. Thanks to many of the following sponsors for sending goodies to the boat... including some of my own wicked awesome MM Sponsors -
It's a super time for my house to spring a pipe leak (plumber is scheduled, but could it have worse timing as I am packing up the car?!) and for other stresses to amp up because guess what -- I'm going knee deep in the water somewhere. And, hopefully, we're not describing my basement in approximately a week.
That while in LA - we went to a tattoo shop. (Had we more time, I would have done it. I didn't. Heh heh. That, and I probably would have been really indecisive, and I have been holding out for that perfect tiny tat, and I don't think I found it there.)
I just got my nose re-poked. I have had it pierced twice before. The last time, ripped out for an MRI.
I must have shown a brave face, and not showed the pain, because I didn't really flinch.
After it was done, Jen sat down for her pain, and nearly clocked the guy.
(Her elbow was JUST at ball level, and she was threatening him.)
YOU SAID IT DIDN'T HURT!
Yeah, well. Would I?
